Chicken Corn Soup Sale (Fundraiser)

The West Willow Fire Company will hold our semi annual Chicken Corn Soup Sale, Saturday January 28, 2012 from 9 am til it's gone. Bring your own containers, no glass, please. Soup will be $5.50 per quart, baked goods and subs will also be available.

Read to a Therapy Dog (Community Event)

Kids love dogs and they really love reading to dogs! On Saturday, January 28th, Gracie and Harvey the Golden Retrievers will return to the Spring Township Library for 10 minute reading sessions with any child who is interested. Reading to a therapy dog encourages confidence in out-loud reading skills. A dog won’t correct or laugh if a child stutters or stumbles over a word. If your child can’t read yet, no problem! Gracie and Harvey also love picture books.Gracie’s handler, Stephanie Adam, and Harvey’s handler, Christine Seltzer, are certified with Therapy Dogs Inc. and take their furry friends all over Berks County providing the benefits of therapy dogs to young kids, college students, hospital patients and senior citizens.This program is free to the public. Saturday, January 28, 2012, Vinemont Community Lutheran Church. All you can eat pot pie dinner. Begins at 4pm and will serve till 7pm. Prices are adults $8.00, 6yrs to 12 yrs $4.00, 5 and younger eat free. Take outs available. Quarts sold for $4.00, and pints $2.00.
